Selkirk, Level Crossing Road, Linglie Mill

During March 1999, RCAHMS conducted a photographic survey of the standing industrial heritage relating to the textile industry in Selkirk. The purpose of this survey was to enhance and augment the existing holdings of the National Monuments Record Scotland.

Having it's origins in 1894 as a weaving mill, Linglie Mill was bought by Edward Gardiner in 1913. Gardiner's retained the mill until 1944, when Linglie Mill was purchased by Scottish Prepared Papers. Selkirk Town Council became the new owners in 1972. Linglie Mill was at this point split up in order to provide development units for new industries. In 1975 the premises passed to the Borders Regional Council.

Linglie mill continues to house small businesses.
