Project (March 2013 - September 2013)

A project to characterise the quantity and quality of the Scottish resource of known surviving remains of the First World War. Carried out in partnership between Historic Scotland and RCAHMS.

Note (7 November 2013)

A DRF post (Direction, Range Finding post) for the 9.2-inch gun of 'F' group which lies 124m to the SSE. The post is shown on a plan of the water supplies on the the island in 1913 (The National Archives WO 78/5161) annotated as 'DRF F Group'.

Not marked on a Second World War plan of Inchkeith (The National Archives WO 192/251). A replacement appears to have been built just to the N of the 'F' group emplacement.
