NT28SE 5.34 29277 82915

A circular concrete platform for an unrotating projectile (UP) mounting is situated on a small area of level ground about 31m SSW of L group gun emplacement (NT28SE 5.05). The concrete emplacement retains the circle of bolts for the UP mounting.

A further three UP emplacements have been identified in the course of survey work undertaken in February 2010. They are situated on the W, central and S areas of the island. Locations were noted on the current OS digital map as

NT 29540 82288, NT 29123 82837 and NT 29387 82721. One of the emplacements was noted within a group of 3-inch AA emplacements (NT28SE 5.08). All were seen as small square concrete platforms with a ring of bolts.
