World War One Audit of Surviving Remains

One of nine known blockhouses (what would be known in the Second World War as 'pillboxes') built in the First World War, to defend the fortress of Inchkeith. This example is situated just above high water at the south-west side of the island.

Brick and concrete defensive blockhouse situated just above high water mark on the SW side of the island. . Gun loopholes set at higher level than pillbox.

Building was viewed from above, but not visited during the survey.
