This bridge carries the present line of the M6 public road (the A74(M)) over Evan Water to the NE of Beattock village (NT00SE 111). Its predecessor bridge is situated adjacent to the W, and now carries the A701.
The bridge presumably dates from the late 1990's, when the A74 was rebuilt to motorway standard.
