Details in 1948: Output 600 tons per day, 142,000 tons per annum, longwall working. 559 employees. 3 plate tables [tables used to remove non-coal debris and sort coal by size], Baum-type washer (Norton) [equipment for wet cleaning coal]. Baths (1930), canteen (pieces), first-aid services. All electricity (AC and DC) from Central Power Station (National Coal Board (NCB)) at Westrigg. Report dated 28-07-1948.

Other Details: Pithead fire in 1925 destroyed all surface buildings. Clay supplied to Etna Brickworks in Armadale (.
