(NS 8603 9533) Maiden Stone (GT).

OS 6" map (1958)

A stone coffin, known as the Maiden Stone, lay some 4 yds N of the north wall of Tullibody church (NS89NE 13) in 1928. It had a niche for the head and two for the arms, and a coped cover. Stated to be the coffin of Martha Wishart, c.1449.

A roughly hewn triangular stone now lies on top of the open stone coffin which is 2.2m long.
