The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Lanarkshire, 1864, sheet xiii) depicts an area of terraced buildings to the N of Shotts Ironworks (NS85NE 2.00). Five rows of terraced houses are shown lining the SE side of the High Street, three on the NW, with a fourth shown continuing into Gray Street. A further four rows are shown on the E side of Flat Row (later Jordan Terrace, and now Benhar Road) (Lanarkshire, 1921 revision, sheet xiii). By the end of the nineteenth century another terrace had been added between Gray Street and Flat Row (2nd edition, 1899, sheet xiii.NE).

The area has since been redeveloped and there are no identifiable remains.
