Almshouse (the Over Hospital): Dedicated to St Peter, a poor's hospital (with a chaplain) on the E side of the parish church (NS 792 937), beside the burial ground, was in existence before 1482. It is also mentioned in 1610 when it was ruinous and proposed to be rehabilitated. D E Easson 1957; I B Cowan 1964
