Shaft/Mine Details: 2 shafts, both 320m deep, No. 1 rectangular and timber-lined, No. 2 round and brick-lined. Pumping continued after closure for neighbouring Bedlay Colliery [NS77SW 22].

Details in 1948: Output 880 tons per day, 237,600 tons per annum. 797 employees. Baum-type washery [wet coal washing system using water and compressed air] (Blantyre Engineering Company). Baths (1931), canteen, first-aid room. Electricity supplied by Clyde Valley. Report dated 19-08-1948.

Other Details: Disastrous fires in 1931 and 1959 killed 6 and 47 men respectively.
