Archaeology Notes

NS57NE 63.10 5586 7549

The original cottage was built in 1858, next to the Mugdock straining well. It has been extended several times. Currently the cottage and the first floor of the extension to the NW of the cottage are privately owned. The ground floor of the extension are Scottish Water offices, empty since Barrachan treatment works came online in October 2007.

Infomation from Jelle Muylle, engineer carrying out survey of sites and structures of the Glasgow Corporation Loch Katrine Waterworks scheme for RCAHMS, Historic Scotland funded, December 2007.
