Desk Based Assessment (19 January 2021)

Nobel House was built as the Manager's House for the Ardeer explosives factory in the latter part of the 19th century. Situated on the west side of the Ardeer site, this was a 5 by 2 bay brick-built, two-storey dwelling with stone surrounds to windows and doors. It had a projecting gable with bay windows. The house was renamed Nobel House and was used as an administrative centre. Now demolished. See Dolan and Oglethorpe (1996), 48 (Plate 55: C62973).
