Archaeology Notes

NR96SW 8 912 625

A group of three platforms is situated between two unnamed streams, c 110ft OD. A bloomery exists somewhere in this neighbourhood, but investigation with a trowel in the platforms only produced charcoal. A fourth platform lies on the N bank of the N stream. Associated with the platforms is an oblong house, 20ft by 12ft; the wall contains a good deal of stone, is about 3ft thick, and stands 2ft high in parts. (Cf. NR96SW 4).

A Graham 1919.
