OS 6" map, Argyllshire, 2nd ed., (1900).
There are various opinions as to the purpose of this 4'-5' high stone. In 1863 it was thought to be monumental, while Scott considers it was used to mark an ancient track leading inland from cairn NR96NW 9 . Miss Rennie suggests it may be a boundary marker, possibly connected with the chapel - NR96NW 6.

NR 9351 6778: A standing stone measuring 0.9m x 0.3m x 1.8m high. There is no reason to think that the stone is not prehistoric.

Field Visit (May 1985)
Situated to the N of Creag Loisgte and 550m E of Low Stillaig, this quadrangular stone (1.9m high and 0.85m by 0.3m at the base) is aligned approximately NNW and SSE; it rises to a pointed top with the NNW side vertical and the SSE side slanting,
