The old control tower is situated about 258m NE of the new tower (NR62SE 28.01) and immediately N of the Motor Transport hangar.
The two stroey building is built mainly of brick with concrete beams and sills to windows, the upper section has been removed. The entrance stairway is on the W elevation. The former control or watch tower has been extensively altered to accommodate electricity power units and large vents have been noted to the rear of the building. There are also small single storey extensions to the E. There is a single blocked doorway in the rear.
The building is now out of use.
