Carragh a' Ghlinne, a conspicuous standing stone, measures some 7ft 10ins high by 2ft by 1ft. Aligned with it on the opposite bank of the Allt Carragh a' Ghlinne is a smaller shaped stone 2ft 8ins high and 2ft wide at base. Looking SW over the small stone to the monolith, a small stone on the ridge beyond is strikingly obvious but whether or not this alignment is accidental or intentional is difficult to determine.

The standing stone at NR 5128 6648 is as described. Beside it, are three prostrate, similar stones; two measured 2.5m long, the third 3.0m, and they are 0.4 to 0.6m broad by 0.2 to 0.3m thick. It is now impossible to observe the alignments noted by Rideout, the general area having been thickly planted with conifers.

Field Visit (May 1976)
NR 512 664. Situated in a small clearing in a Forestry Commission plantation about 1.5 km wsw of Craighouse Post Office there are the remains of a setting of four standing stones.
Only one stone (A) remains upright, standing to a height of 2.4 m with its longer axis aligned NE and SW; it measures 0.65m by 0.35m at the base and rises with straight sides to a pointed top. On the SE face, at a height of 0.6m above ground level, there is a circular depression 50mm in diameter by 10mm in depth which may be a cup-mark.
Stones B, C and D have all fallen and measure respectively 2.9m, 2.4m and 2.4m in length; 0.6m, 0.6m and 0.4m in breadth; and 0.25m, 0.15m and 0.3m in thickness.

Measured Survey (1976)
The standing stones at Carragh a' Ghlinne were surveyed at 1:100 by RCAHMS. The plan was redrawn in ink and published at a reduced scale (RCAHMS 1984, fig.64D).
