NO68SE 5 6903 8010

The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map depicts two buildings and a possible enclosure at an altitude of 205m OD on the gentle slope of Castle Hill, Drumtochty. The area is now afforested.

Castle Hill (NO68SE 5)

Two buildings shown on the 1st Edition OS map have been recorded at the NGRs given above. Both were built of stone and have been badly scarred by ploughing. One piece of (?)early 19th-century china and one piece of creamglazed pot were found in a tree-throw beside the larger and more substantial building.
