Archaeology Notes

NO60NW 49.16 63445 09099

A brick and concrete pillbox is situated at the top of the rise overlooking the beach at the extreme eastern edge of the airfield. The pillbox faces seaward and is now heavily overgrown with bramble bushes which precluded entry to the structure.

The pillbox is shown on the current OS 1:2500 scale digital map and is also visible on RAF vertical air photographs (106G/Scot/UK 5, 4079-4080, flown 14 April 1946).

Visited by RCAHMS (DE), January 2005

Site recorded by Maritime Fife during the Coastal Assessment Survey for Historic Scotland, Kincardine to Fife Ness 1996
