This station was opened 1.7.1852. It was probably used for goods only after 31.5.1887 when another station was opened in St Andrews.

(Undated) information in NMRS.

This intermediate station was opened by the Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee (St Andrews) Rly on 1 July 1852. It closed to regular passenger traffic on 1 December 1867, when the line was extended to Crail.
