There is no trace of the mansion house of Kinnaird, which lay a little to the north of Inchrye, although a pigeon house, a park-line of elderly trees on either side of the public road and two chestnut trees indicate its where-abouts.
The teinds of Kinnaird were granted to Lindores Abbey in the 9th year of the reigh on William the Lion (1165-1214) and in 1630 Charles I confirmed the lands to Sir James Balfour, Lord Lyon King of Arms to Charles I and II and author of 'Annales of Scotland', who resided there. J W Taylor 1875; A Laing 1876; Reg Magni Sig Reg Scot 1984; Information from Balfour Ms (held in Advocates' Library)
No further information. The pigeon house mentioned by Taylor is probably the one at NO 2755 1773 (NO21NE 7).
