NO12NE 66.01 NO 15544 27336 Pillbox

NO 1556 2729 and 1555 2732. Two heavy brick and concrete built pillboxes are situated in a small wood at Shianbank to the S of Perth Airfield (NO12NE 61.00). Within this wood are two stone circles (NO12NE 7).

That at NO 1556 2729 has six sides and four loopholes for machine guns. There is the letter 'JH' inscribed into the concrete. The pillbox at NO 1555 2732 faces Perth Airfield and has one large loophole for an anti-tank gun and one smaller for a machine gun. Camouflage paint can still be seen in the large loophole.
