Archaeology Notes

NO02SE 134 0582 2068 and 0601 2067

See also NO02SE 113.

For Dupplin Castle (NO 0565 1947) and related buildings and monuments, see NO01NE 22.00.

These two ponds are partly infilled. Each was dammed at the E end by a concrete dam (now breached) with an iron screw-sluice in a timber framework. They probably supplemented the water supply to mills at the Milltown of Aberdalgie (NO 076 206) via the Coldstream and Cotton Burns.

Visited by RCAHMS (RJCM, JRS), 24 November 1995.
