(NO 0794 1136) Struie Castle (NR) (Remains of)

Struie Castle is said to have been erected in the mid 17th Century. An old circular tower, 8-10 feet high, is the only remaining portion.

Name Book 1859.

The circular tower, the only remains of Struie Castle measures c 4.7m in diameter over walls 0.6m thick of roughly coursed masonry. In the SE side, just above ground level, is a shot-hole. No further information could be found locally.
