NN70NE 2.01 78199 06028

There is a sundial of hollow-dial type (c. 1630) with a square column, octagonal centre part and obelisk top at Cromlix House. It is in excellent preservation.

SDD List 1964.

This sundial, as described, is situated at NN 7820 0602, where it was erected between 1920-1925. It originally stood, many years ago, in the vicinity of the old police station at Dunblane.

A desk based assessment of this building was made by RCAHMS Threatened Building Survey following a consent/planning application for alteration works at the site being submitted to the planning local authority. It is proposed to move the sundial and adjacent gate piers to a new location.

A request for RCAHMS to carry out a statutory survey of the site was made via online planning portal/letter.
