"A small wooden Bridge, thrown across a chasm on the Keltie about a mile from Callander. It is supported on each side by a perpendicular rock, and is about forty feet above the bed of the river, with a length of seventeen feet". "Upon a small scale nothing can exceed the wild grandeur of the scene and nobody can pass the Bridge of Brackland without some feeling of apprehension" (Statistical Account 1790|
