Archaeology Notes

NN33SW 7 3285 3322.

The northern and southern springers for a bridge still exist to the N of the late 19th-century railway bridge. Given the angle of the springers it appeas that the abandoned bridge may have had a vaulted arch which has now totally disappeared. There is some evidence of alteration, particularly in terms of cement pointing on the springers. This was probably carried out during its period of use as the parliamentary road.

NMRS MS/725/68.
