Archaeology Notes

NK04NE 12.06 0899 4673

(Name cited as Berryhill Villa and location as NK 0899 4673). The remains of a ruined rectangular building are situated on a gentle slope at an altitude of 40m OD.

NMRS, MS/712/98.

This building does not appear on the RAF vertical air photographs of 1946 (106G, Scot/UK 110, 4345-4346, flown 23 May 1946), but is visible on the air photographs of 1969 (OS 69 176, 62-63, flown 6 June 1969). The later date for the construction of this building would suggest that it is connected with the postwar Radio Location Station 250m SW.
