Camp Site (disused) [NAT]

OS 1:10,000 map, 1973.

(Name cited as Meadowbank and location as NK 0911 4699). The incomplete remains of a disused military camp are situated on a gentle slope at an altitude of 35m OD.

NMRS, MS/712/98.

Examination of RAF vertical air photographs (106G/Scot/UK110, 4345-4346, 23 May 1946) show that this 'Camp site (disused) is a sewage/water works for the airfield. The depiction on the OS 1:10000scale map (1973) and the current OS 1:2500 scale digital map show two circular features, which are the filtration tanks. The air photographs shows the two filtration tanks along with a flat roofed building and huts.
