(NJ 7018 2614) Dovecote (NAT)

OS 6" map, (1959)

A rectangular dovecot with a pitched roof.

SDD 1960.

A dovecot, probably of 18th century date, c. 4.6m square, with one string course. All the pigeon bones are still intact and there is an armorial panel above the door in the S.

Visited by OS (RL) 25 February 1969.

The panel is a damaged Elphinstone coat of arms, dating from the 16th century and probably derived from the old front door of Logie House (NJ72NW 5.00).

NMRS, MS/712/69.
