There is a Late Bronze Age socketed axe from Dunnideer in Marischal College Museum, Aberdeen.

(Socketed axe of Dowris type). Single find. socketed axe, brown-black, untrimmed, haft ribs; length 74mm, mouth 27x30mm, cutting edge 56mm, weight 180 gms. Anthropol. Mus. Aberdeen (246).
