NJ61NW 79 centred 6181 1982

For Castle Forbes (NJ 62148 19130) and associated buildings, see NJ61NW 11.00.

The remains of rig-and-furrow cultivation are visible on the N and E flanks of Cothiemuir Hill. On the N the rigs are aligned NNW and SSE, while on the E they are aligned E and W. The rigs, which measure up to 7m in breadth, also extend down the slope on the E into a shelter belt over a distance of at least 250m away from the E flank of the hill.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, RJCM), 4 October 1996.
