(NJ 5375 6382) Urns and Human Remains found (NAT)

Several hundred yards from the circle (NJ56SW 11) at Ley an urn was found by Mr Lawtie the present tenant of the farm and it is now in Banff Museum.

W Cramond 1887.

In September, 1841, an urn was ploughed up on the farm of Ley but was broken by the workmen. It was found placed upon a stone with a cover on the top.

New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845.

This site, in a cultivated field, lies near the edge of a gentle east-facing slope. There is nothing to be seen on the ground.
