OS 1:10,000 map, 1976.
Two granite boundary stones are situated to the N of House of Newe (NJ31SE 42.00); they are not depicted on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Aberdeenshire, 1903, sheet lx) and, therefore, probably date to the early part of the 20th century. They are part of a series of boundary stones that also includes NJ31SE 42.07 & 42.09.
1. NJ 3781 1246. The first stone is situated about 45m N of the House of Newe, in the angle of two fence-lines. Rectangular in section, it measures 0.3m in breadth by 0.15m in thickness and about 0.6m in height; on its N face there is an incised letter C, and on the S face the letter I, while on the flat top of the stone there is a number 7.
2. NJ 3784 1244. The second stone is situated immediately N of the House of Newe. Rectangular in section, it measures 0.3m in breadth by 0.15m in thickness and about 0.6m in height; on its N face there is an incised letter C, and on the S face the letter I, while on the flat top of the stone there is a number 6.
