Archaeology Notes

NH67NE 5 6999 7540.

Long cairn, orientated NE - SW, 45ft long and 25ft wide.

Somewhat denuded, it now has a height of only 3ft. No visible signs of chamber.

Human bones have often been found (ISSFC 1902).

NH 6999 7540 Generally as described above this cairn of bare stone measures 18.0m X 11.0m and is 1.2m high.

Field Visit (12 September 1943)

Kinrive East (ROS 26) NH 699 754 NH 67 NE 5

This Long Cairn stands 50m E of Kinrive West (no. 13) and measures 13. 7m from NE to SW by 7.6m transversely. Much of the W end was removed during road construction in 1977.
