NH45NW 2 4422 5730.
Two pieces of thin copper, decorated with indented ornaments, were presented to the NMAS by Sir George MacKenzie of Coull in 1828. "They are described by the donor as pieces of copper, supposed to be plate armour, or the covering of a shield, found in a cairn, under an oak tree at Craigdarroch, Ross-shire. Various other portions were found along with these, and their appearance seems to justify the suppositions of the donor.

There is a very large oak tree at NH 4422 5730 at Craigdarroch, but no trace of any cairn could be found under it, or in the immediate vicinity.

Portions of thin plates of bronze with incised ornament, which Phillips (Information from C W Phillips to OS) ascribes to the Dark Ages though he gives no date and does not classify the site. (Acc Nos: FC 154, 155) NMAS 1892
