The Whitebridge Hotel may have been a 'Kingshoue [Kingshouse]' on General Wade's road from Fort William to Inverness. (See also NH41NE 9)

W Taylor 1976; J B Salmond 1938

This inn, now called the Whitebridge Hotel, may be on the site of a military camp utilised by soldiers who were employed in the building of the road. A kingshouse may have been constructed at a later date for the use of travellers on the road.
