Archaeology Notes

NG82NW 5 83 27.

A stone circle, formerly stood on the flat at the south base of the height Cnoc-an-Dingeil. Clachan of Kirkton is said to have derived its name from this circle.

T Wallace 1890.

Unable to locate Cnoc-an-Dingeil but it may be a corruption of Angel's Hill (See NG82NW 8) There is no knowledge of a stone circle ever having existed in that area.

Visited by OS (R L) 21 September 1966.
