Archaeology Notes

NC50SE 20 c. 599 048.

A polished kaolin axe from Rhianbreck (NC 599 048) Lairg, was donated to the NMAS by Dr Arthur Mitchell. It came from diggings in connection with the railway in 1867. In its incomplete state - a portion being broken off the butt end - it measures 6ins long.
