Standing Stone, 'Clach Stein',.... a large broken prostrate monolith. It has been 10ft in length, 2ft 8ins in breadth and about the same in thickness. There are several blocks of stone of inconsiderable size in the immediate vicinity.

RCAHMS 1928, visited 1914.

The stone is split into two parts, 1.5m by 0.8m and 1.4m by 0.6m, the lower portion partly embedded in the soil, at an angle: 1.5m north of it stands a smaller stone, protruding 0.8m above the ground: this is 0.6 by 0.3m in size. The surrounding moor has at one time been cultivated and old dykes and clearance heaps protrude through the peat.

Standing Stone "Clach Stein", Lower Bayble, Eye Peninsula.

Near the summit of a ridge on rough moorland some 500 yards northwest of Lower Bayble, in the Eye Peninsula, at an elevation of 180 feet above sea-level, is a large broken prostrate monolith. It has been 10 feet in length, 2 feet 8 inches in breadth, and about the same in thickness. There are several blocks of stone of inconsiderable size in the immediate vicinity of this stone.
