(Location cited as HY 247 066). Hoy Sound Low lighthouse, completed 1851 by engineer Alan Stevenson. Hoy Low is a n unusually short tower, with 1-storeyed keepers' cottages. It was made automatic in 1966.

Field Visit (August 1997)
Built in 1851, the buildings comprise a low, lime washed circular lighthouse tower of staggered ashlar and a range of single-storied keepers houses with platformed roofs. The lighthouse has been automated; the keepers cottages are currently occupied.
