1487 tons registered. Built of iron, Alloa 1892 by [report received incomplete]. Gothenberg for Taltal in ballast. Mistook Skerries light for Fair Isle due to bad weather making navigation difficult. 4 lost from crew of 28 plus on stowaway. Dead buried Mid Yell churchyard

(Location cited as Ness of Queyon, East Yell: date of loss cited as 26 April 1924). This wreck has 'completely broken up' and the remains lie scattered in rocky gullies at depths of between 10 and 15m. Little of the hull remains, but the 'vast amount' of surviving iron includes ribs. Identifiable fittings include handrails, bollards, anchors and chains, a steam winch and fairleads.

After the vessel sank, her figurehead (known locally as the 'White Wife') was washed ashore some distance from the wreck. This was erected nearby, and was extensively restored by Charlie Grant in 1986. (Location not cited).

(Illustrations in text). The bell (un-named and apparently in re-use from an earlier vessel), the name board from the steering box, some portholes and a sealed bottle of whisky have been recovered from the wreck. Some of these items are held at Shetland Museum, Lerwick, and others at the Old Haa Museum, Burravoe, Yell.

(Location cited as HU 537 853). 'Much wreckage' of this steel German training ship survives on the Groin at the SW of the Ness of Queyon. The bell was recovered by Shetland SAC.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. That of The Groin or The Groyne cannot be established from the available map evidence.

The role of this vessel as a training ship is not noted by Whittaker.
