A rounded water-worn cup-marked stone, measuring 1ft 5ins. by 1ft 1ins., containing 4 cups found by the late Mr T. Thomson in the bank of Swinister Burn and donated to the Shetland Museum by Mr J. Thomson, Swinister, in 1967 (ARC 6713).

Field Visit (2 July 1934)
Cup-marked Stone, Swinister. This rounded water-worn stone (Fig. 5, 1) is in the possession of Mr. Thomas Thomson, Swinister, Sandwick. It measures 1 ft. 5 in. by 1 ft. 1 in., along the axes, and is about 4 in. thick. Close together in the middle of the flatter side four cavities or cups have been produced by percussion. The largest of these is 3 ½ in. in diameter and 1 7/8 in. in depth, and the smallest 2 7/8 in. in diameter and 1 5/8 in. in depth. The purpose of the stone is unknown.
