Military camp, one Nissen hut extant, recorded by A Purdy.

Information from Defence of Britain Project form, August 1996.

Further recording forms from Mr A Purdy for the Defence of Britain Project have noted many structures, air-raid shelters, Nissen huts, concrete platforms and relating to this camp. The concrete platforms are probably hut bases and one brick buiolt structure at HU 3919 1038 may have housed a electricity generator. Most of the recording forms also contain photographs.

Information from the Defence of Britain Project forms, January 1997

The accommodation camp is visible on vertical air photographs (106G/Scot/UK 97, 3025-3026, 18 May 1946), as a group of at least 29 huts, mainly of the Nissen type.

Traces of the camp are visible on more recent aerial photography (All scotland Survey [Jasair], 27 89 004-005, flown 4-6 July 1989), which shows several concrete hut bases N of of minor road at this location, however, most of the site has been cleared and new construction is in evidence.

Information from RCAHMS (DE), December 2005
