Circumstances of Loss : **VESSEL BUILT 1938. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY DET FORENEDE DAMPSKIBS SELSKAB. ON PASSAGE NEW YORK FOR OSLO AND COPENHAGEN, TORPEDOED BY U-38. CREW RECOVERED FROM LIFEBOAT THE FOLLOWING DAY, FIVE LIVES WERE LOST, WHEN 15M NNW OF FOULA. THOUGHT TO HAVE TWO DECKS WITH CARGO OF 48 TONS COPPER WIRE, 248 TONS COPPER RODS. (WEALTH FROM THE SEA & DODS).
