Opened late in 1939 as a satellite to Perth, a small grass runway airfield, It closed on July 9 1945, and the land reverted to farmland. Only the flight office survives as evidence of the airfields location.

This airfield is situated between the A 93 and A 94 main roads and to the S of Meikle Whitefield. Nothing could be seen, apart from the former flight office at this location on the day of visit.
J Guy 2000; NMRS MS 810/9.
The airfield is visible on RAF WW II vertical air photographs (NLA 68, 3077-3082, 4077-4082, flown 27 August 1943), which show the grass runwayed airfield and a small group of buildings and Nissen huts including the flight office grouped around the W side of Meikle Whitefield farmsteading (NO 1711 3471). The photographs also show a line of six blister hangars at the edge of the field on the S side of the airfield.
