A Middle Bronze Age, bronze flanged axe, found in a field near Keiss village (ND 34 61) formed part of the collection of Sir Francis Tress Barry which was donated to the the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1908 (Accession no: DC 85).

(Flanged axe of Lissett type). Near Keiss broch. Single find in a field. Flanged axe, corroded, green and black, flanges broken where they join the blade, blade hammered; length 114mm, butt 23mm, cutting edge 43mm, weight 190 gms. NMAS DC 85.
