Archaeology Notes

NT10NW 57 12283 05262.

This substantial early-19th-century farmstead of one and two storeys has a U-shaped plan that includes byres with the original fittings in situ and a lower roofline than the rest of the farmstead to the NE, a barn and a granary above cart sheds to the SW, and stables and a store to the SE. A modern shed lies parallel to the byre range. The farmhouse and a detached byre/sheep-shed range lie immediately in front to the NW. The farmstead is built of white-washed rubble and has slate roofs. It was visited in 2000.
