Activities

Field Visit (5 July 1994)

NX55NW 39 5281 5744

This cairn, which is situated towards the base of the SE flank of Cambret Moor, measures 7.5m in diameter and 0.5m in height. An upright slab, 0.5m in length, perhaps part of a cist, lines one side of a hollow in the centre of the cairn. This appears to be the cairn referred to by Coles (1899), the description of which has erroneously be attributed to the cist to the W of Cambret Hill (NX55NW 6).
