This linear sandstone quarry is orientated WNW-ESE, and has pronounced vertical faces. It has been entered along a trackway at the SW corner, and has small heaps of brashy waste to the S and SW. The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Perthshire, sheet xcvi, 1867) depicts only what is apparently the W end of the quarry.
