Archaeology Notes

ND23NE 18 2515 3512

A well-built, rectangular post-medieval structure 17 by 5m with walls 1m wide and upstanding to a maximum of 1m. There is an entrance in the S wall and one internal division, the small room to the E having an extensive rubble deposit.

A single unroofed building of two compartments is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxxiv) and on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1977).
